We got home on Wednesday around 11am and it's been pretty much like this the whole time....just kidding. It's been an adventure to say the least, but Kelly and I are relishing every moment...even the ones at 2:30 in the morning:-)

Silas has been getting quite a few free concerts. Improv, skat, jazz, emo, you name it. I found out that it only holds him off from food for about 20 minutes though:-) but Kelly says that's a nice long time!

Everyone seems to be settin' pretty happy. Kelly's been up and about...course she was like that yesterday, too:-) but today she's feeling even better. One of the nurse aids came in the room and had to clarify who the patient was. lol That really made Kelly's day! Silas seems to be a happy camper. I would be too if all I did was get held, eat, sleep, and poo my shorts:-) Looks like we'll be headed home tomorrow morning sometime, so we're very excited about that!! I'm trying to get more pics up, but I think I'm gonna take a nap first.

Silas had a bit of trouble keeping his temperature up so he and papa had some skin to skin warm-up time.

So Silas was born at 2:19am this morning. Kelly pushed for about 2 hrs & 2o minutes. She did SUCH a great job!! I had no idea I would be allowed to be as involved as I was, it was sooo cool!! Steve Viars told me before hand to just take control of the situation...so I did. I'm not going to post the details on that, but it was totally radical!

About the last half hour of pushing Kelly started running a temperature so by the time she was done, she was still shaking quite a bit. She's a tough cookie though and took it in stride. That was really about all the complication we had and we're praising God for that.

Looks like Kelly is now completely dilated! She's gonna labor down for about an hour (let the contractions move the baby down) and then they're gonna have Kelly start to push. I'm sooo totally stoked!

Thank goodness for drugs:-) Kelly was finally able to get an epidural and she's taking a nap right now...I'm getting ready to join her. Looks as though we still have quite a while to go in this process. I think if Silas is born today, it's going to be very late in the day. At 4pm she was still only at 3 centimeters...we're shooting for 10. Yikes!!

false...yup. They [contractions] feel real, they time real, they ARE real...but they're false. So the bad news is Kell didn't go into labor yesterday. The good news...she could go into labor at any time. BTW, for all the die-hard bloggers out there, I will post an update when we officially go into labor:-) Thanks for the continued prayers!

The contractions are now growing in intensity and Kelly can defiantly follow the bell curve of each contraction. At this point they're about 5 minutes apart, so we're going to see Dan, and then maybe to the hospital.

Kelly and I took a nap together this afternoon and I awoke to her giggling profusely! According to her, whenever she closed her eyes, the room began to spin and spin and spin and it was totally cracking her up!

Other than that hilarity, the contractions are coming slowly and at low intensity, so everything is still fairly calm in the Curtis dwelling.

Kelly "plan master" Curtis is what we call her. For all intents and purposes Kelly's pregnancy has been text book. Growth rate, heart rate, her weight...you name it! Trust me, we're thanking God everyday for a relatively uneventful gestation. And don't worry, we realize we're in the green/ novice/ clueless category as we head into this next faze (which I affectionately refer to as "the really fun stuff"). Kelly is learning moment by moment that her timing may not be God's timing. And I'm learning moment by moment that I need the words 'flexibility' laser etched into my retinas!

Kelly and I are are totally stoked about introducing this little guy to earth. Sure, I'll agree that it's a pretty scary place sometimes, but all in all, I can't wait to show him all the cool stuff here. Especially Avocados!
