pool time w/ papa II

Silas cracks me up when he gets this upset.  What you don't see is that I was dipping his feet into the FREEZING cold water.  I never even made it all the way in! Yikes!!

happy ant

I know how to spell 'aunt'; I just did it that way for fun:-) Casey tried to convince us that she doesn't have emotional melt downs but she had a pretty hard time leaving her neph at the end of this particular visit:-)

my little peanut

sometimes we nap together, but Silas has spotted something interesting on the ceiling and isn't about to close his eyes.  He is such a little peanut!!

Lay Z daze

Everyday I'm shocked to find that he's gotten cuter!  I love him so much it hurts!!  Notice the naturally spiked hair...following in papa's footsteps already:-)

tranquility

We got home on Wednesday around 11am and it's been pretty much like this the whole time....just kidding. It's been an adventure to say the least, but Kelly and I are relishing every moment...even the ones at 2:30 in the morning:-)

silas serenade

Silas has been getting quite a few free concerts. Improv, skat, jazz, emo, you name it. I found out that it only holds him off from food for about 20 minutes though:-) but Kelly says that's a nice long time!

post your comments

i had to adjust a setting to allow anyone to comment...so if you've wanted to comment up to this point but haven't been able to, have at!

happy campers

Everyone seems to be settin' pretty happy.  Kelly's been up and about...course she was like that yesterday, too:-) but today she's feeling even better.  One of the nurse aids came in the room and had to clarify who the patient was. lol That really made Kelly's day!  Silas seems to be a happy camper.  I would be too if all I did was get held, eat, sleep, and poo my shorts:-) Looks like we'll be headed home tomorrow morning sometime, so we're very excited about that!! I'm trying to get more pics up, but I think I'm gonna take a nap first.

wide eyed & mystified

titus the human incubator

Silas had a bit of trouble keeping his temperature up so he and papa had some skin to skin warm-up time.

happy...exhausted

So Silas was born at 2:19am this morning. Kelly pushed for about 2 hrs & 2o minutes. She did SUCH a great job!!  I had no idea I would be allowed to be as involved as I was, it was sooo cool!! Steve Viars told me before hand to just take control of the situation...so I did. I'm not going to post the details on that, but it was totally radical!

About the last half hour of pushing Kelly started running a temperature so by the time she was done, she was still shaking quite a bit. She's a tough cookie though and took it in stride. That was really about all the complication we had and we're praising God for that.

tuckered out

I promised more pics and they are on the way. Kelly says this kid will probably be the most photographed ever:-) Kelly's doing well.  She pushed him out like a pro!
